Global Bedroom Furniture they purchased from our Howell store was a hit with their guests over the holidays.
'My wife is the decorator in the house. After being married for 30 years, I pretty much gave up on having a say when it comes to furniture styles and paint colors,' he laughed. 'She is always done a great job with it and has made our home a cozy place.'
After officially moving out of the house after moving back in and out a few times after college, he and his wife's daughter was not planning on moving back and her old roomed remained empty.
'She has moved back in and out a few times since college graduation. As our only child, I hoped that she would eventually move back in for good until she got married, so we left her room empty for over a year the last time she said she would not be moving back home,' Antoinette said. 'We then said to her this is it! We are taking your old room if you are sure you will not be moving back.'
'When my mother or Antoinette's mother would visit and stay over, which tended to be a lot around the holidays, we had no place for them to sleep, often giving them our bed which meant we would sleep on the couch,' Phil said. 'Now that we had an extra room, it was time we gave them a comfortable place to stay that could be their own.'
Antoinette loves to design and had at one point wanted to be an interior designer prior to being a stay at home mom, so she was beyond excited about designing a new space.
'Our mothers both love the color purple, so I knew purple was a must, along with furniture that matched it. I also wanted something that was more modern that our daughter could appreciate when would sleep over,' Antoinette said.
'We had intended using Home Living for our
bedroom furniture needs. We purchased a sofa from them before and their team was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Their prices were also competitive,' she added. 'My husband is retired now so price was important for us, yet, we also wanted a quality product that would last. Our daughter had Ikea furniture that was not only a pain to put together, but it did not last. For the sake of shopping around, we checked out other furniture stores in Monmouth County and also looking in Ocean County. After a few weekends of looking, we went straight back to Home Living. Their customer service is really something that can not be beat,' Antoinette added.
The couple ended up choosing Globals Metro Platform Bed in a Queen, a quality product at an affordable price.
'It is more Phils mothers style than my mothers but we knew they would both like it. We added on one end table and a dresser (all that would fit in the room)! I filled the dresser with plenty of blankets and toiletries. The drawers on the end table have a few books in them, to help our guests feel comfortable. We had our family over for the holidays and everyone loved the set. A coat of grey paint with a purple accent wall and purple comforter really strung the room together. Our daughter painted a picture that matches the comforter which we will be hanging.'
'Now we dont have to worry about where to put the moms when they come over. While they tend to come over at different times, the bed is big enough for them to shared if they wanted. We wish we had the space to give them each our own room. They slept comfortably in the firm

The couple went on to mention that they are excited to show this new space to even more guests and have them try it out. They hope more family members will stay over again soon!
